Give God Your Ashes

Last week I had been praying about something that  I believed the Lord wanted me to write and it was difficult because it was something that had happened in my life that was painful and I didn’t want to talk about that part of my life. But the words from Ashes to Beauty, kept coming to my mind.  I had gotten this letter from my Aunt Rose and had left it on an end table. As I walked past the table the letter caught my eye and I decided to open it and read it. There in the pages of her letter it was confirmed that God indeed wanted me to write my story and I did. I’m not going to share it at this time, but I wrote it in obedience to the Lord for another venue. Even after writing it, I was torn, but something my pastor said in his sermon Sunday was that, “The Bible is full of stories of broken and imperfect people and maybe your story will help someone else.” We all have stories…some happy and some sad life is messy…we can’t change the story in the past…it is what it is…But with the grace of God and with His guidance and direction we can change the story going forward…God took all the ashes of my life; the broken, bitter, ugly story and turned it into something beautiful and of worth, to be used for His glory…I am not that person from the past…I am a brand new creation…I have the favor of God and I will forever Praise Him for transforming my life by living in obedience to His will! The thing is…is that when we surrender our hearts to Him…he takes our ashes and turns them into beautiful jewels for His glory!! He will give you beauty for ashes…we just have to be willing.
God used my Aunt Rose’s letter, the letter below to give me the courage to tell what otherwise would have left me bound to something he wanted to set me free from.
Writings by Aunt Rose
A New Beginning
We may “wish” for a change, but wishes do not come true without a decision. Decisions come with faith and obedience to God. There will never be a change without a decision.
God can give us a renewal daily with fresh mercies. We can either go on the way we are or accept the fact that we have been created, by God, to need “new beginnings.” We must release our faith and say, “His is a place of new beginning for me, a place to have a fresh start.”
It is time to have the abundant life that Jesus says we can have. We must put away the old and put on the new life in Christ.
There is no room or the time for the depressions, the guilt, the hurt, self-pity, unforgiveness, bitterness, selfishness, anger or jealousy; anything that may come between you and God. Jesus bore all of this on the cross so that we may be free and delivered of all sins. He delivers you from any bondage! God assures us that, through Him, we may have ever lasting life and be Overcomers.
In order for God to change things for us, He needs our co-operation. There must be a change “within” us before there can be a change in circumstances. If He has been speaking to your heart about new levels of obedience or some sacrifice; you may need a change of attitude. We may have to take an action of faith to see results.
(Isaiah 61:3) How wonderful it is to know that God gives us beauty for ashes! He heals us physically and spiritually. The ashes are everything that’s been burned away that’s keeping you from coming into the fullness of God. We must get rid of it. The devil wants us to keep them around to destroy us and remind us of the past and our weaknesses. The past has been wiped away and He never remembers anymore, neither should we. He gives you too much abundant life for you to be consumed by the past sins, which you died away to.
This is the time and year chance to decide to make a fresh beginning. Be determined, by faith and obedience and the power of Christ to make a fresh beginning with God for the New Year 1998 or at the present.
When we obey God, in love, He will restore to us all that we have lost. Even if all you have left is rubble and broken pieces of your life. He, in His miraculous way will make it all work for your good. I know this is unnatural to the carnal way of thinking. “What the devil means for evil, God will work it out for good.”
If you have everything but don’t have Christ, you have nothing. If you have nothing but have Christ, you have everything.
(Romans 8:26-28) With God being our partner, “all things work together for good to them that love God according to His purpose.”
There is a calling and a purpose on each life. We must set ourselves apart from this world and be in complete obedience to Him. Without obedience there can be no joy~ what do you have to lose?
~Anger, shame, condemnation, self-centeredness, hatred, bitterness, guilt, unforgiveness and many things that defeat us.
(Lamentations 3:22-26) We have new mercies every morning and great is God’s faithfulness. It is in the Lord we have our hope. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him and to the soul that seeketh Him. It is good that we hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. During that quiet time we should honor the Lord with praise. He loves to hear from His children and He loves to spend time with us. He wants us to know that we are strengthened just by His presence. He wants to be first in our lives but He also knows it is our choice. It is our obedience that He yearns for. He wants to bless His children and He’s waiting for us to take the time to commune with Him to give Him our undivided attention.
We gain so much during our praise. “Be still and know that I am God!”
God is the Deliverer. The Peace-giver. The Restorer of the soul. The Resurrection and the Life. The Comforter. The Overcomer. He is everything you take time for Him to be. What do you want God to be to you?
(Isaiah 41:10) Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Amen~

Isaiah 61:3 New King James Version (NKJVTo console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Romans 8:26-28 New King James Version (NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession [a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Isaiah 41:10 New King James Version (NKJV) Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Lamentations 3:22-26 New King James Version (NKJV) Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.

The Willow

The roots of a Willow tree are tough and fibrous. A twig left lying on rather moist ground will take root, at every joint. Willows grow chiefly in moist land along streams or around the margins of lakes and swamps. They are planted on the banks of streams where the fibrous roots bind the soil and prevent its washing away. Willow twigs often are the thrust in the soil of river levees by workers carrying out flood control programs. These soon take root and develop into trees.
I think I might just take a liking to Willows. Doesn’t seem like they take too much taking care of and if you don’t have a “green thumb”, it sounds like the right kind of tree for me. One that takes root at every joint is left lying on moist ground. Isn’t this a beautiful descriptive way of looking in comparison, to a Christian? One who eventually grows and matures in Christ like the Willow is nourished, grows into a tree. Just think at first, these plants bend and flow with the breeze and all the while, are becoming strong enough to withstand even the storms that rage until they grow into tall, strong trees. Jesus helps us to withstand the strong raging storms of life with His Divine Power and guidance, (with our acceptance of His help), eventually, so no matter what our circumstances are, or the insurmountable obstacles that come against us, like a tree that’s planted by the water, we shall not be moved…
Maria’s “Notebook of Sayings”
P.S. So goes the Christian who has matured by desire and being grounded deep into God’s Words—She never thirst again after receiving the water He gave. Feeling His Devine Power in the breeze of the Holy Spirit.

Memory of Mama

 Pearl Jeannette Gandy
As I looked at my memories for Facebook today I see where I posted about my mom going home to be with the LORD! (7162015) I am strong…I am determined…I am brave…I am loved…I am a Child of God…in these moments of sadness…I will let myself cry…and then I will release God’s peace and hope in my heart…we have all felt the pain of loss and we grieve…that is part of how God designed us, it is a natural process…Our Hope is in Him…our life is in Him…our help is in Him…and while I am sad today and miss my mom so terribly much…I know she is in a wonderful place…I am blessed to have had her with me for as long as I did…and you know what, it doesn’t matter how old you get…you still feel like a little kid at times and need a hug, a kind word and some TLC.
My mom wasn’t perfect…but she strived for perfection and to do what was right…
She lives on in her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren…and those to come…she failed many times in her life as we all do…but she didn’t take her eyes off the Lord…and if you were around her for any length of time…you’d know she was full of God’s love…I like to think that, that part of her has rubbed off on her children…I believe it has…we came from strong roots…and best of all…from the roots of Jesus…we may not all share him the same way…or live for him the same way…but the evidence of Him is in our DNA…and the prayers of my mama are eternal…her prayers are still being answered…God’s anointing flows deep within us…there is no escaping Him…oh we can rebel and disobey…but He loves us too much to let us fail…for those who draw close to his breath…will always breathe the prayers of salvation and his conviction will cause us to come to repentance and draw us closer…and closer to His presence…
Mama, thank you for your life and for living the second part of your life totally and completely sold out for Jesus; preaching, teaching, praying, abiding, lifting His name up. Thank you for your faithful prayers. Thank you for your mentorship and the legacy of living your life for God! Thank you for never giving up…
…I’m still here and while I’m here I will proclaim God’s great Love and share His life with others…because there is no greater name, no greater teacher, no greater love, no greater way or truth, than the Lord Jesus Christ…
Maybe you don’t believe…that’s OK…because Jesus believes in you and he will never give up on you.
His grace is sufficient…and one day…One day…every knee will bow and every tongue will confess…
That Jesus Christ is LORD!
But today…I’m writing this as a memorial to my Mom! This may have been the day she died…but it is also the day she gained life eternally in her heavenly home!! I am still on a journey in a far away place…a sojourner…a traveler through this time and space…it’s not my time to go home yet…so until then…
Thank you mama for being you! I miss you dearly. I see you everywhere I go…I feel you in my heart…I see you when I look in the mirror…and one of these days I will be with you…and we will run on the streets of glory…we will sing at the top of our lungs in the Angel Choir…we will fish in the Jordan river…we will even walk on the water…we will dance and twirl and laugh and talk and never ever get tired… We will rejoice in the presence of the Lord God almighty forever….Amen!

1 Thessalonians 4:10-14 New Living Translation (NLT)
Indeed, you already show your love for all the believers throughout Macedonia. Even so, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you to love them even more.
Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.
The Hope of the Resurrection
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.

Relationship Restored with Adonai

No longer could a veil, divide, the place where God’s Holy Presence resides
From crown of thorns, to nails, and a pierce in His son’s side,
Torn body,
Yahweh cries…
It…is…finished!
He gives up this life and he dies~
And in that moment, in the Holy of holies…the temple veil is torn…
From top to bottom
God’s presence unleashed, set free for mankind’s hearts to receive
Total transformation~
New wine poured out…
The heaven’s shake; the earth quakes…
A drink, from His holy cup…
Graves open up
As the God-man preaches there’s a revival in paradise
Chains, from souls are broken
God’s word purely spoken…
First fruits of the resurrection; born to give us new life…
Anointed one…Jesus the Christ…lives to testify…
Jesus is now our High Priest; He will never cease, to intercede for us
No more separation from the Holy One…
His death ripped the veil; new life has begun…
No flaming sword of cherubim, to block us from His presence,
No sacrifice of animals to cover up His essence…
No longer incense burned, nor water from an urn…
No more years to yearn, to see Messiah come…
Jesus tore the veil…
His name we’ll forever hail…
His story we will tell~
We are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb…
Full access to Elohim…
We will walk and talk with him again…
No longer, will we mourn…
For the veil, is torn~
Praise El Shaddai, our Adonai…
Reunited with our Abba…
Nothing more, can ever separate us, from the LORD!

Matthew 27:50-52 New Living Translation (NLT) Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead.
Hebrews 4:14-10:18 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus the Great High Priest
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Every high priest is selected from among the people and is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people. And no one takes this honor on himself, but he receives it when called by God, just as Aaron was.
In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him,
“You are my Son; today I have become your Father.”
And he says in another place,
“You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Holy Ghost and Fire-Do Not Fear

OK here we go!!!
So about this Holy Fire…
This is the message I have to give today…and in obedience I write…
God sent Jesus.
Jesus said to tarry (wait) for the Promise…stay in Jerusalem until you are filled with the Power from on High…
Luke 24:49 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) And look, I am sending you what My Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high.”
You know it takes wind blowing on embers, to cause them to ignite and catch fire…
One-hundred-and-twenty-souls in a room upstairs near Jerusalem…what were they doing? They were waiting in obedience, and they were praying together in one accord….Ten days after the ascension of Jesus…(Acts 1:14)
And then suddenly, like a mighty rushing wind the room was filled where they were and tongues of fire lit upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and Fire!!!! Praising God, all speaking languages they didn’t know … (Acts 2:2-4)
The crowd thought they were drunk with new wine, but it was too early to be drinking it was nine in the morning…
Tribes and nations were there from all over the known world for the feast of Pentecost….They heard these unlearned men and women praising God in each of the foreigner’s on language…shocked by this display…some mocked, but some listened.
Peter stood up and began to preach, this is not new wine, it is what was spoken of by the prophet Joel. (Joel 2:28)
He began to tell them about Jesus, and what the religious rulers did to the Son of God…About 3000 souls repented and were baptized that day.…When the Holy Ghost and Fire is seen and heard in God’s people, when His word is preached, faith rises and…transformations take place and something miraculous happens…these early Christ-followers didn’t have a lukewarm encounter with Jesus…they didn’t have a scheduled program or organized religion, they had no fine, luxurious buildings to minister in…they preached in court yards and on hill sides….They were persecuted…crucified, mocked, spit on, beaten, betrayed, stoned to death for their faith…and that was before they received the Holy Ghost and Fire…look what happened to them afterwards…they Rocked the known world for Jesus and He spread like wild-fire everywhere they preached. Hearts were changed, bodies healed and set free, deliverance from evil spirits…they helped each other, loved each other, prayed for each other…They were the called out ones…The  early Church…
Peter said the Holy Ghost was for everyone who accepted Jesus as the son of God. I’m not just taking about tongues of fire…I’m talking about a rejuvenation of the heart, where the love of God is the focus and souls for His kingdom are the goal…that even the far off ones would be filled…that’s you and me. That the Holy Ghost and fire is for every generation and all who will seek Him…Do you eat only one meal and never eat again? No. You eat daily. The same is true of being filled with the Spirit.
God always has a remnant…those who will not conform to this world…those who get alone with the Messiah and pray, not to be seen of men…but to have an intimate relationship and pivotal moments with Him. Where he directs their lives and reveals more of Jesus to them. By letting the Holy Ghost have full reign showing them the heart of Jesus…
It doesn’t matter what is going on in this world…chaos and death and sickness and climate changes have been going on since the beginning of time… Jesus said there would be wars and rumors of war…it rains on the just and the unjust…our bodies are going to decay they are going to wear out…but our soul never wears out, never grows old, never dies…the soul is eternal…depending on the decision we make will determine where our soul will dwell forever.
Evil is ever present and will continue until Jesus returns….We as Jesus’ children and followers must keep our eyes on Him…be full of the Holy Ghost and Fire and continue in His word…Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God!!
The Holy Ghost is gentle, kind, comforting, peaceable, longsuffering, He doesn’t grow weary or tired…he doesn’t sleep or slumber…He is always watchful always aware and always brings the Presence of God and reveals Jesus to the seeking heart. He grieves, he rejoices, he doesn’t bring confusion or doubt. He brings understanding and encouragement. The Holy Ghost of God is not fear or death. He brings life and refreshing.
Don’t let lies or distractions keep you from the life-source…tarry in His presence and let him show you what it is He has for you…he doesn’t make a display to bring glory to himself…He comes to show us Jesus.
The only way we are ever going to truly know Him…is to be with Him…seek Jesus not the gifts he has to offer…those are manifestations that he is present. Do you want to know about the author of the book…or do you want to know the author?
If you are a God-seeker…a Jesus-follower… Holy Ghost walker-talker…then ask him to fill your cup on a continuous daily basis…let the rivers of life flow from your belly. Not hot or cold and never lukewarm…
Be on fire.
If you have no clue what I’m talking about…and you want to know Him…Ask Jesus to come into your heart and change your life, fill you with The Holy Ghost and Fire and I promise you will understand. I’m not talking about emotionalism…I talking about a real, honest-to-goodness encounter with the Living God!
Open the Book. The Holy Book, known as the Bible…God’s words were written down for us to read and feast upon. Men and women lived and died to make sure this generation would have the Word of God. Don’t take it lightly…respect it and protect it. Learn it and know it. The scriptures testify of who Jesus is…if you truly want to know Jesus…read His word and ask the Holy Ghost to open your understanding. Ask him to show you the face of Jesus. He loves to reveal Jesus to us so that we will live and not die.
~Marla Shaw O’Neill July 13, 2018
(Read Acts chapters 1 and 2)
Acts 2:2-4 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying. And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them. Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.

No Condemnation

I read your words of life today they made me stop and ponder
Is there hidden sin within my heart?
Lord, help me so I do not wander.
Am I being kind and thankful for all that you have done?
Am I setting the right example?
Do I criticize and complain, do I take your name in vain
Is my heart pure before you Lord, or do I bring you shame?
Help me Lord.
I don’t want to point fingers or accuse anyone of blame…
Are my ways pleasing to you Lord?
If someone needed help, would I welcome them in, or turn them from my door?
Do others see you, in me, Lord?
When troubles come my way, is faith alive and shining bright, morning, noon and night?
Do I offer a drink of water to a dry and thirsty soul…?
Do I offer them a place to sleep and fill their empty bowl…?
The orphan and the widow Lord, let me, their servant be
So that they will know it’s you Jesus, living inside of me…
Child I hear your honesty…
And when you praise and dance for me, it thrills me through and through
There are not many that I can say, has a heart like you do…
You know the way you feel,
Watching your grandbabies play, sing and dance, the way they are so free
How it brings you joy and happiness just to witness this…
Pure peace and exuberant bliss…
Like your heart will explode in wonderfulness…
Child, you do this for me
Every time you lift your hands to pray
Every time you speak my name and say
“Jesus I love you…”

My heart melts with joy and complete and utter delight…
A pure heart with loving kindness makes heaven bright…
The stars, light-up and the Moon rejoice, when mine are faithful and true…
The Father sings and the Holy Ghost brings heaven down to those in tune…
With the angels holy choir they make music and a sweet melody…
When you speak words of life in my name…we become one-and-the-same…
Never doubt sweet child of mine, for we are one of a kind…
I’ve chosen you because your heart and mine are intertwined…

That day long ago when I died upon the tree
Buried in the rich man’s tomb
Rose for all to see
Your sins were all forgiven
When you opened your heart to me…
And on the day of Pentecost,
My promise gave you the power to stay free
To love and give and teach and preach for all who will obey
Keep your heart pure and clean
Holy Spirit will guide your way
I love you child, it blesses me when you open your heart to pray…
Humility brings honor; and life when you obey!
I rejoice over you with singing…you are my delight and shining star!
A priceless treasure…

Romans 8:1-2 New International Version (NIV) Life Through the Spirit Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
Zephaniah 3:17 New King James Version (NKJV) The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
Deuteronomy 7:6 The Message (MSG) Do this because you are a people set apart as holy to God, your God. God, your God, chose you out of all the people on Earth for himself as a cherished, personal treasure.

I had a bout with vertigo yesterday and vegged out for most of the day…today it is better. I used the time to do some reading and praying and pondering some things.
Today as I talked to the Lord I did as I always do I just talked honestly with him and some times he answers and some times there’s just a comfortable silence. We have an understanding it’s perfectly fine. Like two friends who can sit silently together without saying a word but enjoying each others company. That’s the kind of relationship I have with my friend Jesus. No disrespect I know who he is…
But today I needed him to hear me and I needed to hear him…and before I could even finish talking the Holy Spirit began telling me what I a delight I was to him…he was so awesome…he said, He loved the way I danced before him like a little child and how it delighted him when I talked openly and free…he said, “You know how you are thrilled when your grandchildren dance and sing and play without inhibitions with a pure heart…that is the same way I feel when you are free with me…” all I could do is cry like a baby…the intimacy of his words cleansing me and giving me total assurance that I am his…God is so Amazing… He wants it to be that way with all his children…<3 I want to bring Him that kind of love and joy all the time!!!

Holy Fire

Holy Fire burn in me
Heart desire set me free
Ignite this soul and let it be
Burning bush consuming me…
Light the flame and let it burn
Within this heart and do not spurn
God of Fire…let me learn…
Send down your Holy fire and turn
My eyes, burning heavenward
My lips speaking flames of truth
My head held high, looking deep into your blazing eyes…
Arms stretched out to embrace your love
Flames raging, pouring out from above
Pillar of fire made seven times higher,
You, O God are my one desire….
God of heaven creator of all things
Let your Kingdom come…
In this furnace of life, may your will be done…
Set me on fire with love divine
That all will know that you are mine…
Consuming Fire…burn…
Refiner of Gold, let my story be told
Into the fiery furnace with you, I behold…
Holy Fire; Holy God, consume me with your Fire!
Until all that remains of me, is nothing but your face to see…
Jesus, living, inside of me,
Send your Holy Fire, consumed by thee…
~Marla Shaw O’Neill July 10, 2018
Hebrews 12:29 King James Version (KJV) For our God is a consuming fire.
Daniel 3:25 King James Version (KJV) He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Exodus 3:2 New International Version (NIV) There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.
Matthew 3:11 New International Version (NIV) “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

You are Chosen for A Higher Calling

Broken man lying at the beautiful gate…reminded daily of a life once full and whole… Begging for bread, a place to lay his head, death waiting, disease taking its toll…until…
Blind from birth, street person with no worth. To humanity he seems absurd…but to him it only takes one word…from the one who gave him life…no more worries…no more strife
Silly woman thrown in the dirt; relating it, to what she’s worth…stoning will come soon enough…but a man called Jesus writes in that dirt and saves her and forgives her, showing her there’s a reason for her birth…
You there, struggling day and night, hopeless, broken, no one sees you crying in the early morning light…or the one fighting for your life on distant shores, begging, just to survive one more day and night…
Young man, young woman, fearing what the next hour may bring…addictions and abuse leaving you homeless and confused…Where are you God? Do you even exist? Feelings of, “I’m no good, no use!”
Souls broken and dying…evil consuming their lives…they are the reason Jesus came and died…
We are born with a purpose and a high calling, one that is often overlooked because of selfishness…the self… becomes the god…I learned something today. I was reading about God being a consuming fire and came across a profound truth…I read that the first sin was not Adam eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil…it was the LIE that the snake told Eve… “lason hara (evil words) “Has God said…?” Gen. 3:5
How many times has Satan come to us with his lies and we believe his evil words…We are quicker to believe the lie than the truth…why is that?
We believe the sickness more than we believe the healing…we believe the slander more than we believe the truth…we believe what we see, taste, touch, smell, feel, hear…because that is what is natural…we can’t see the invisible world…a world that is just on the-other-side-of-forever…
Our senses tell us this temporal world is where we long to be…to live forever in this fallen place…that this is home…our soul is blinded by the lie… “Has God said?”
God has said
You are more than a conqueror.
You’ve been saved by grace.
If you ask anything in my name Jesus said, you shall have it, if you believe and don’t doubt in your heart.
Speak to this mountain and it shall be cast into the sea.
Your sins are forgiven…
Receive the Holy Ghost and Fire
I came that you would have a full, joyful life…
My grace is sufficient for you
You will live and not die
Cast all your care on me for I care for you
I love you with an everlasting love…
Life is hard. Life is messy. We can either live this life in misery and fear and anxiety and hopelessness and despair…OR…we can choose to live this life in hope, courageous, fearless, in faith, knowing and trusting in the Living God and what he says is the truth…even in our deepest, darkest moments of weakness and sickness it is so much better believing the truth than the lie…and in the end…you will have the beginning of a life without pain, without suffering you will gain everything when you live your life with the truth…
There’s a higher calling for your life…God didn’t give us sickness and death…God gave us Jesus who is life…
Satan comes to destroy everything that God created…He hates you and not only wants your soul…he wants the soul of your children for generations to come…it is so vitally important that you get this…and understand…the High calling that is on your life…it is a fight of battles…but God has given us the power through the blood of Jesus to overcome the evil…in Jesus’ name…he has given us the Holy Spirit and Holy Fire not in our own strength or might…but by His Spirit…
Our High call is to glorify God!
Even in our dis ease…even in our weakness…even in our deepest darkest hour…we must keep our focus on Jesus knowing we have already won!!!
Get self out of the way…Look full in His face and know…WE ARE VICTORIOUS, COURAGEOUS WARRIORS OF PEACE, LOVE AND JOY! FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE! FIGHTING A FOE THAT IS ALREADY BEEN BEATEN! WE ARE GOD PLEASERS…GOD WALKERS…GOD TALKERS…AND WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!!!
ACCEPT YOUR HIGH CALLING!!!
Jesus said, “ And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me…” John 12:32 KJV

And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.
My favorite:
Isaiah 61:1-7 New Living Translation (NLT)
Good News for the Oppressed
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations. Foreigners will be your servants. They will feed your flocks and plow your fields and tend your vineyards. You will be called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God. You will feed on the treasures of the nations and boast in their riches. Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

Natural Hugs and Kisses to Supernatural Hugs and Kisses

 Our Grand-Babies

The biggest thrill of my life is when my three-year old grandson, Elias came running into my arms to welcome me with a big hug, Friday afternoon. “Grandma, he yelled… It’s a good thing I was sitting on the couch because we both fell backward as I felt the embrace…I was delighted and a little surprised…but thrilled beyond words…Abram, my son, helped me sit up, but Elias did not let go…in fact he stayed in my arms for quite some time…there is no greater love than the love between a grandchild and grandparent…except God’s love…
Then my granddaughter Lydia, being a little shy also welcomed me with a big smile and hug…she’s two and was a little more reserved but the love was just as thrilling.
Then there is Ezra, the nine month old. I held him and would say, “I’m gonna get your sugar” and nuzzled his neck with kisses on each side and he would respond by giving me a great big open mouth smile begging for more…
And of course my beautiful Granddaughter Esperanza, she’s sweet sixteen and all grown up, but her smile and hug was like winning the billion dollar lottery…and even that doesn’t compare…Love is the most valuable gift in the Universe…it is worth living for and dying for…and that brings me to this…
When we connect with Jesus through the Holy Spirit and welcome him with hugs and kisses, running and jumping into his arms he is thrilled beyond words and he loves us right back…If you’ve never experienced that before…let me just say you are missing out on the only thing that matters in this life…Nothing compares to his love, his kisses and his hugs…if you have experienced him than you know exactly what I’m talking about…when He touches you, you are healed in body mind and spirit…you are delivered from bondage and chains…your heart sings a new song and you dance as David danced without restraint or inhibitions…and it doesn’t’ matter who’s watching or not…It doesn’t matter is someone makes fun of you or mocks you…all that matters is that it’s you and Jesus…
He’s real…he is really, really real…if you want to know him…if you feel that tugging at your heart…run, don’t walk, jump into His arms and stay there until you are changed, transformed and let him Hug you and kiss you until a big smile covers your face and you know beyond a doubt you are totally and completely loved by Him…
He’s waiting…he has come to your house today…he’s sitting on your couch and he wants to show you how very much He loves you.

Song of Solomon 1:1-3 King James Version (KJV) The song of songs, which is Solomon’s. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

You Make A Difference

 My cousin Maria.
When I was nine months old my cousin Rosa Maria Gandy was born. I don’t know why she was given the name Rosa Maria I’ll have to ask my Aunt Rose when I talk to her again. But we all called the little girl, Maria. One of the tales I grew up with was that I bit Maria’s finger and she knocked me down some steps. We became the best of friends. We lived three houses apart on Patsy St., and we both learned to whistle without using our fingers…very loud, ear-piercing really. And we would communicate from one house to the other by sending that whistle out into the neighborhood…we were saying, “Hey. I know you are there.”
When I was about nine years old, my family and I, moved about ten miles from Rocky Creek, but Maria and I stayed connected. We were kindred spirits and we loved each other dearly. In fact later on in life after she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and she had married and had a little girl and I had, four sons…I in my house and she in her house…without knowing what the other was seeking the Lord about, we would call each other and discover we had been talking to God about the very same thing…same scriptures, same thoughts, our spirits were one.
My best friend and cousin left this world when she was only 38 years old. I was devastated by the loss and I was extremely angry that she had to leave me at such a young age. As humans we do that we get angry, it’s natural…I loved God with all my heart and so did she. Why God? Why did you take her? I cried and screamed out to God but I only received silence…Maria had been a beautiful person. She was talented in music and her poems was inspiring…she had a beautiful daughter with everything to live for. She served God and was a living example of his grace. The disease took her strength, her youth and her life. And I guess rather than have her live in that condition God in His great mercy, chose to take her home. I do not for one second, believe God gave her the disease, but he allowed her to be tested in this way and I believe she passed her test. Only God knows why. He is God and I trust him but I was angry that it happened.
We all suffer loss at some time or another. It wasn’t long after my outburst with God that I had a dream. Maria came to me in my sleep. She was healthy and vibrant with a big smile on her face. I looked at her and said, “Maria, how can you be here, you’re dead.” She looked at me with great exuberance and said, “Marla, I’m not dead, I’m alive.” Then she vanished. I woke up and the grief I had been experiencing left me. I rarely dream about her or my brother or my Mom so when I do, it is for a reason.
Last night I dreamed about Maria. I walked over to her; she was sitting among some other people who I didn’t know. I started to hug her but she said, don’t touch me I’ve been sick. Then she began to sing this song to me…I don’t remember the words exactly so I’m going to write what I perceived them to be…She was saying…You make a difference.
Yesterday I didn’t have much energy I stayed on the couch most of the day and just let my body rest. So maybe the reason she came to me was to encourage in this way.
You Make a Difference
You may not know it, but eyes are watching, ears are listening and hearts are receiving the love you show to them…
You make a difference while living here; God’s not finished with you yet.
You see your life is not your own, a great price has been paid for you alone…
God in heaven sits upon his throne to attend the cares of men…
It’s only when
You surrender your life to be used of him, that you will understand…
You make a difference when you spend your time in prayer with him, when you bow your head and cry…or lift it to rejoice
You make a difference when you stand before the crowd and speak to them
The words of God penetrate the hearts of seeking men, children and women…
When you think no one is watching and you lend a helping hand…
Not asking for anything in return…but doing what Jesus did…
You make a difference in the lives around you when you give an encouraging word, or a hug, just simply love…because you can…
The wind blows without being asked, the rain waters the earth, the sun and moon shine in their own time…seasons come and go… they do what they’re created to do…
So my friend you make a difference when you choose to do, what you’re created to do…
You make a difference for just being you.
So don’t be weary or want to give up…there’s a better life ahead…
Keep doing the things that you think don’t matter…you’re making a difference keep climbing the ladder…
Keep walking, keep sharing, keep living, keep daring, and when you think that no one sees…
Life gets hard and sickness and disease, takes those you’ve grown to adore…
Heaven is our resting place, and there we’ll be restored…
Angles trod the golden streets…but wonder how we walk these streets…dusty roads and muddy places; they watch us turn our hearts to seek…the one that they adore…
Jesus made a difference He’s Christ the Lord!
If only you could see, what he sees, when he looks at you…
Making a difference in someone’s life that is what you do…
Day after day, month after month, year after year
For as long as you are here,
You will make a difference.
And always remember, Those who have gone before us with Jesus in their hearts…They are not dead, they are Alive!!!
You’ll be remembered, ‘There was one who made a difference!’
