Freedom’s Call

I received this poem from my Aunt Rose in honor of Memorial Day. Aunt Rose is 87, she loves the Lord and has inspires me all the time. I love her dearly. I hope you enjoy her writing and that you, too, will be encouraged and blessed as you read her poem.

Our women and men, so brave and true,
Fight for liberty for me and you.
Some gave much and some gave all~
Many answered to Freedom’s Call.
Now, they look up to the stars,
Memory brings back, freedom’s scars.
All of their buddies, left behind,
Who fought and died, for this country of mine.
With a tear in their eye and a
Hand on their chest…
They know in their heart; they did their best.
For America, the Home of the Brave, and
The Land of the Free…
That cost so much, for you and me.
Give a “Thank you,” when you have the chance,
To the ones who wore, a sharp crease
Pressed on their pants.
Tell them you appreciate, what they went through…
They make us proud of our colors, that never “run…”
The Grand Ole’ Flag, the Red, White and Blue.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
