The Companions

You do not walk alone,
Companions, Goodness and Mercy are with you
They follow you wherever you go…
The Good Shepherd has ordained it so…
For you are in His family and this is all you need, know
He takes you to fields of green, where there are, still water streams
He will not leave you in the valley of death; he’ll restore your soul
And with each breath…he’ll breathe new life in you…
Fresh anointing with holy oil…poured from His cup unto earth’s soil
Where life and health and peace and joy…will be your sure reward…
Dwelling forever in the House of the Lord…
Dwelling forever in the House of the Lord!
With Goodness, and Mercy, and rest, we’ll adore,
Our Risen, Victorious, Majestic, Lord;
In His House, forevermore!

Psalm 23 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4

  1. Have you ever heard this funny story?
    A mother read Psalm 23 to her young son every night. When the small child entered kindergarten, he wanted to walk to the nearby school with his friend. So as not to discourage the young lad, she agreed but got two friends to follow the boys in a car.

    One day the child’s friend realized someone was following them and pointed it out. The little boy that heard his mother’s teaching of Psalm 23 every night simply replied with childlike innocence, “Oh, never mind that’s Shirley Goodness and her friend Mercy.”

    Don’t you hope goodness and mercy follow you with as keen an eye as those two ladies in the car?

    1. 😁I never heard that but it was really cute. Thank you for sharing. You made me laugh out loud ❤️🤣
