The Surprise

A little girl of five, was standing in line to meet the man in red…
Looking over at the little boy of six, said,
What’s your wish?
The little boy of six, with big brown eyes, looked at her and was quite surprised
He stared into the angelic face, waiting for his reply…
Oh, I’m not here to make a wish, I’m here to tell this man in red,
That God is real and He’s not dead…
It’s not about wishes I make, or gifts given, or gifts we take…
Years ago, a story can be read in Luke of the Bible, this is what it said…
A babe is born in Bethlehem, angels rejoiced with shepherd’s keeping their sheep
The baby wrapped in swaddling clothes while Mary watched him sleep…
Peace, good-will, to all the earth, it’s all about the Christ Child’s birth…
The little girl of five, eyes wide, clapped her hands with glee
Oh thank you for sharing, your story here with me…
You see,
My wish was going to be…
That God would send a message to the man in red, while I sat upon his knee
That would change his life and set him free…
For that man is my daddy!

Luke 2:5-16 King James Version (KJV) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
