Words

Words are very important how we use them can either heal or destroy. With everything that has happened recently. I’ve pondered about many things. Tears flowed as I watched the horror that has taken place in my country, and I shake my head. How God? How could this be happening? I know evil is ever present and I’m not naïve enough to think that all is butterflies and roses. Life is hard and challenging and downright cruel at times. In my seventy-one years of life, I’ve seen many terrible things, but this, people laughing and mocking and joking and lying about a young man, whose life was just taken, senselessly is beyond comprehension. A young woman murdered in cold blood, and no one did one thing to help her.
As others have said this is not about religion or politics. This is an all-out-evil-war with an enemy so putrid and diabolical who is becoming more and more blatant in his attacks. This is a spiritual war. It’s been going on since time began and will not end until Jesus returns. So, we put on God’s armor. We don’t back down. We pick up our Sword of the Spirit, choose our battles wisely, be led by the Spirit of God and fight. If God is for us who can be against us! God is greater!!!
This is what was on my heart, WORDS are extremely important!
God, spoke the word. (Gen. 1:3; Ps. 33:9; Hebrews 11:3)
Jesus, is, the word. (John 1:1-14)
Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Ps. 119:11)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. (Ps. 119:105)
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear. (Proverbs 25:11-12)
When you’re a witness in a court of law, you’re under an oath, you swear or affirm that what you are about to say is the truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God.
You’ll be held accountable for your words.
God’s word says, we will give an account for ever idle (careless, or unprofitable) word we speak. Matthew 12:36
I’ve heard this saying many times, “What you do speaks so loud that what you say I cannot hear.”
Words are important. God has a lot to say about words in the scriptures, His Holy Word.
Be aware and take captive every thought because thoughts become words and words become actions. Words can kill or they can bring life to the hearer. We speak words to communicate. Choose your words wisely.  Reference: (1 Corinthians 10:5)
Practice self-discipline: Taking every thought captive is an active process that requires personal discipline and commitment.
In scripture it is written: Let your yes, be yes, and your no, be no. Matthew 5:37 and James 5:12.
When you speak from a heart that is honest and trustworthy your life proves your integrity. When you speak people will know and trust what you say is true. Your words are not manipulative or spoken with outlandish promises, which is seen as deceit and is considered to be from the “evil one.”
Your yes, means yes and your no, means no.
By your words you’ll be justified and by your words you’ll be condemned. Matthew 12:37
Matthew 12:37 means that your words reveal your inner heart and true beliefs, and you will be held accountable for every word on judgment day, either being acquitted or condemned based on whether your speech reflects truth and righteousness or falsehood and malice. This verse, part of Jesus’ stern rebuke of the hypocritical Pharisees, highlights that a person’s speech is a clear indicator of their inner disposition.
Speak life. Speak God’s word in love sometimes his word can sting. But truth sets us free.
The words of Jesus:
  • “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Matthew 12:34 (King James Version).
  • In context: The statement “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” serves as a principle that a person’s words reveal the condition of their heart.
Sometimes it’s wise to keep silent and sometimes you must speak with boldness and courage even if it cost you everything. Because in the end if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you will gain all!

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
