The Gift

Rocked to sleep in mommy’s arms, safe and loved and secure.
Swings and slides and see-saws, chasing butterflies under blue skies.
Reading, writing and arithmetic, now tablets, and high tech…
Growing pains doesn’t explain the things we thought about our lives.
Working, year after year, planning and dreaming dreams…
Parenthood…
Misunderstood…
Everything changes, some for bad and some for good!
Retirement comes, where has life gone? We’re left to wonder in old age…
Still young at heart, lives will part, as we sit in line for that time…
We too will depart…
Life is a continuous cycle…
So, live it while you can…
We won’t always understand…
That’s OK, we don’t have too.
Struggling to walk, to think and talk, age takes a toll…
I hear God say, my grace is sufficient for you, when you can’t walk, roll…
This gift of life that you’ve been given, is often taken for granted, but remember this…
There is contentedness…when you take One day at a time!
Child, you are mine…
Eternity will be divine!

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 The Message
7-10 Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first, I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,
My grace is enough; it’s all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so, the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
