God’s Promises, for every need!

About a week ago actually, the night before we were to leave to go to Tampa for Christmas, the whole shelf in our bedroom closet came crashing down. All our clothes and things that were stored on top of the shelf lay in a heap on the floor. We didn’t have time to deal with it so we left it until we came back.
But on top of the heap, I saw this little book lying there and so I picked it up. It had belonged to my mom. It was given to her by some cherished friends, Ron and Becky Shortt, at Christmas time in 1983. I looked through it and at the very end of the book mom had written these words.
“For Victory, get eyes off self, eyes off circumstances, eyes on Jesus!”
In looking further, I found a page where she had written her prayer list for deliverance, healing and salvation. It listed all of her immediate family it was dated 1984. Her husband, her children and her mother were listed. Eight grandchildren at the time and her son’s in law and daughters in law. So many memories came flooding back. Some of the family is in heaven now with mom.
I will be 69 tomorrow. Sixty-nine years here on this earth it’s hard to imagine but here I am. Finding this little book is I believe just another way of mom letting me know she’s in a good place and not to worry about anything. Life goes on even after our body gives up in this life. Knowing I am a child of God and that by grace through faith I will live forever without knowing it mom’s prayers are answered. More than anything she prayed that her family would be saved. That has become my prayer too! So, “Get eyes off self, eyes off circumstances, eyes On Jesus! That’s how you gain Victory!” Thanks mom! I love you and I miss you. One day we will be together again and oh the stories we’ll have to tell but until then…
Eyes on Jesus!

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
