The Old Book And Grandma

This book is very old
Like grandma its spine is bent and weak
Its pages yellow with age, when opened it creeks!
It smells different too, because time has made it so
Stacked on dusty bookshelves often forgotten and left to itself…
Frayed, thin pages, make them difficult to turn
Be gentle with it, for it’s quite fragile and old
Weathered many tests and traveled many roads
The words may be different than what you’re used to reading
But make no mistake the story is worth receiving…
It has passed through many hands
Found itself in a number of lands
Like grandma, it has a story to tell, so hold onto it and become the best of friends
Open the first page see the copywrite date of its birth
Like grandma it spent a long time here living on this earth~
And like grandma this old book is tender and dear
Hold onto it, read it with the greatest of care
For books and grandma’s, old or new tell amazing stories to inspire you.
The old book will fade one day, it’ll be gone without a trace…
But like the lines on the pages and furrows on grandma’s face
Memories will always be there molded in your heart to share…
The old book and grandma, though tattered and torn, will never fade away!

Malachi 3:16-18
The Message
16 Then those whose lives honored God got together and talked it over. God saw what they were doing and listened in. A book was opened in God’s presence and minutes were taken of the meeting, with the names of the God-fearers written down, all the names of those who honored God’s name.
17-18 God-of-the-Angel-Armies said, “They’re mine, all mine. They’ll get special treatment when I go into action. I treat them with the same consideration and kindness that parents give the child who honors them. Once more you’ll see the difference it makes between being a person who does the right thing and one who doesn’t, between serving God and not serving him.”

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
