Bringing Good News

Unaware, in the still of the night, gathered around a warm fire light, shepherds were watching their sheep sleeping in an open field.
God said, “Angel-bright go and tell them the good news.”
A glorious light shown around the men as they staired in awe and fear…but Angel-bright said, “Do not be afraid shepherds. I have an announcement to make, I am from the Lord Most High and he sent me to tell you, His son, your Messiah has been born this very night. It will be a sign unto you, go to Bethlehem and you will see a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a humble trough. Mary, his mother and Joseph are there too.
The shepherds looked on in wonder and as they listened a battalion of angels sang out in one accord…Glory to God in the highest they sang, peace, goodwill to mankind we bring…let all of heaven and earth rejoice at the arrival of the newborn King!!!
The shepherds took an unblemished lamb to lay before the Great I Am and there, they saw, the baby Jesus just as they had been told. The little lamb bayed at the Savior’s side, breathing, sleeping, Messiah, alive…
The sacrifice was made…coming down from heaven His life he gave…
Oh, worship the precious baby lamb today!
His story has been told throughout the ages…
We know he’s no longer in the troth…or wrapped in strips of death-cloth…
The angels are still singing his glory, we, are still proclaiming His story…
Wisemen still seek him…shepherds are watching…for in a day when we least expect it…
The Lion, no longer a lamb will return!
Watch and pray…

Luke 2:8-14 New Living Translation
The Shepherds and Angels
That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
