A Memorial May 30, 2011

While sitting in this deep dark hole
I write, Dear Mom and Dad,
Do not weep for me
But remember why I lay here now
Not alone but with other soldiers brave and strong
We fight for our country and way of life
We gladly lay down our lives
Often our sacrifice is with life and limb
Freedom is not free, it is bought with blood…
It’s with honor and pride we give our lives
And for freedom we have fought and died
Soldier next to soldier we march and fight
To protect our family and friends
Knowing the risk and the price we take may ultimately be our end
But with all my heart and soul I shout
“Onward women and men, who served our nation well
We will not surrender to the likes of them who storm the streets like Hell
For our way of life is precious and sacred, we fight for liberty
So on my tomb when you see those stripes you’ll be singing victory
Do not weep for me mom and dad…for I served as I was told
And soon you’ll see me heavenward strong, happy, and standing bold…
Our lives cut short, but with pride we salute, our Flag with gratitude,
In God we trust and will obey, we protected our humble home…
Promise me this, that you will remember to pray…
God bless the men and women who serve the U.S.A.

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
