The Sanctuary

From a dark lonely street
To a Sanctuary He brought me
Not knowing at the time
What God had in mind…
Alone, but not forsaken
I opened my hearts door
It wasn’t long before…
I began to know, intimacy, with the Lord…
Quiet seemed so loud
In my humble tiny shroud
My Sanctuary; God’s presence, like a cloud…
Filled up my mornings with words he asked me to write…
Waiting patiently for Him to speak…anticipating Him, I’d seek
And then He’d whisper, a story that sometimes made me weep…
God was teaching me I needed to be meek…
Days came and seasons changed…
One life gone, new life, transformed…
God’s likeness was born…
In the Sanctuary of His presence, I no longer mourned
My life, no longer torn…
Between two worlds…
Spirit comforted and Spirit complete…
Writing God’s messages, so others would seek
A Sanctuary of their own
Unconditional Love melted my heart of stone…
I learned…
Upon his head are wounds of his love
Taken there for me…
Scars remain but will never regain…
The place where they once caused me, bitter, pain…
He brought me to the Sanctuary
Where I would come to know
The Love of the Savior and how He loves me so…
Don’t struggle in the lonely times
Times you feel no one sees…
For God has brought you to His Sanctuary…
Where he longs for you to be…
Open your heart and open your mind
Let Spirit, guide you and you’ll see…
God is our Sanctuary He is waiting there for thee…

Psalm 63:1-4 English Standard Version (ESV)
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
