Crucify Him

My mama used to say, “I’m not old, I’ve just been here a long time.”
Mama loved God with all of her heart, mind, body and strength…
When she met you, she would know your whole life history before you left her presence and she would take you by the hand and pray with you. Oh not one of those microwave prayers…she would pray over you the scriptures she knew the word of God and she knew him on an intimate, personal level…He truly was her best friend…Mama would pray a sermon over your life and when she was through you knew you had been to the throne room of the Living God…and God heard and answered…if you were sick, God healed you. If you were lonely and depressed, you were renewed in your spirit and your mind and joy would come flooding into your heart and the burdens were lifted…if you had financial struggles, jobs would become available God would dispatch his angels for a land fall of abundance to flood your life…if you were longing for a baby, God sent babies, if you were needing a home, a home materialized…if you needed salvation, before she was finished praying you were a brand new child of God and you accepted Jesus as your very own personal savior.
Mama came through a whole lot of trials and tests through her 83 years of life. She grew up with no daddy; he died when she was only nine months old. She had six siblings she grew up with… They were poor, in material goods, but rich in Faith.
The thing I want to tell you this morning is, it’s not about my mama…it’s about the God she loved. It’s about the God who loved her. He wants you to know he is the same God that is reaching out for you right now…Oh how He loves you!
I don’t just tell you to read His book so that you can become religious and proud that you read the whole thing. I tell you to read it because it will reveal who He is…It will tell you that God is love. That He had a son and his name is Jesus/Yeshua in Hebrew. It will tell you that Jesus had a purpose for coming here. He came here just for you. He was born and lived and served. Then they took him and they crucified him on a cross.
I don’t’ know if you know what it is to be crucified let me just tell you a little bit about that.
Jesus came into Jerusalem they praised him, laid out palm leaves to welcome him, cried out Hosanna in the Highest
Jesus went to an upper room to have supper with his disciples, men he had lived the last three years of his life with…He took a cup and blessed it and they drank from it. Jesus said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
They knew each other very well. He even told them that one of them would betray him.
Then Jesus went to the Mount of Olives to a garden. Jesus told his disciples to pray so that they would not enter into temptation. He prayed, “Father if it is your will, let this cup pass from me. He felt abandoned and was overcome with great sorrow. He felt overwhelming pain and terror. He prayed so long and so hard that drops of sweat poured out of his body like blood…an angel came to strengthen him…when he went to his disciples he found them sleeping, they were exhausted with sorrow… “Why are you sleeping? Wake up and pray!” Then he went and prayed again. Just as the cup of suffering was passed around the table he now asked to let it pass from him…he said, “Father if it is your will, let this cup pass from me.” In other words, Papa, please, this cup is too heavy to bear, I don’t know if I can do this. Could you maybe change your mind and take it from me…?” (Para mine) Three times he prayed…finally… “Ok Papa, not my will, but thy will be done.”
The betrayer came leading the way…Judas came straight to Jesus with a kiss…letting the High Priest know who Jesus was so they could take him. “Judas will you betray me with a kiss?”
Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion that you have come with swords and clubs? Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”
Then they took him to the house of the High Priest.
Peter who had said, “I will die for you.” Denied he even knew Jesus, three times. A rooster crowed and Jesus looked straight at Peter, then Peter remembered what Jesus had said.
The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him. They blindfolded him and demanded, “Prophesy! Who hit you?” And they said many other insulting things to him.
Then he was led before Pilate and Herod and questioned.
But the whole crowd shouted, “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!” (Barabbas had been thrown into prison for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate appealed to them again. But they kept shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!”
For the third time he spoke to them: “Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have him punished and then release him.” Scriptures found in Luke 22 and 23 NIV
They chose a murderer to be set free…they wanted Jesus to be crucified.
The Crucifixion!
Below is a link of a Physician who describes in great detail what the crucifixion of Jesus was really like. Please read it. Let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart. Jesus went through this for you because he loves you more than life…He wants to give life to you. Oh how I pray you accept him today!

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
