I\u2019ve been thinking about it for some time now. It\u2019s serious and heart breaking. It\u2019s about a young woman I knew years ago. I\u2019m not going to give her name but it\u2019s a story I feel I need to share at this time.<\/h6>\n<h6>She was a young woman of thirty-eight with three children. When I met her she was bright and cheerful and loved life and people. When she was herself she was a joy to be around. She was happy, everyone\u2019s friend. She\u2019d do anything she could to help you.<\/h6>\n<h6>But\u2026her life was in total chaos. From an injury, she got hooked on pain killers that took her down a path no one should ever go.<\/h6>\n<h6>She told lies upon lies, so that she could get that fix\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>Drugs were her only focus\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>Prostitution\u2026stealing and time spent behind bars\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>Over and over and over and over; like waves tossed about in an ocean she lived in endless torment\u2026Years and years of living a life of hell and defeat\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>People who loved her could not trust her, and were done trying to help her\u2026they were exhausted from years of trying, they told her\u2026it was up to her now\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>I\u2019m telling you all this for a reason, please bear with me\u2026don\u2019t tune me out\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>On this one pivotal day, she appeared at my house\u2026she was dirty, wearing only a house coat\u2026and no shoes\u2026she was frantic, scared and haggard in every way\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>She ran to me and hugged me it seemed like a death grip\u2026she was holding on to a life-preserver not wanting to let go\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>I said, \u201cCome in let\u2019s get you cleaned up.\u201d There was such a wild look in her eyes but a sigh of relief on her face as she came in\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>She took a shower and I gave her some clothes and shoes to wear. She sat down in a chair and I sat across from her. She said, \u201cMarla, I need God!\u201d<\/h6>\n<h6>I said, \u201cIt\u2019s OK, God is right here with you.\u201d<\/h6>\n<h6>The wildness left her eyes. But she was fidgety.<\/h6>\n<h6>She was taken to the hospital\u2026she vowed to continue recovery\u2026and she was released to go home.<\/h6>\n<h6>She came to my house for Christmas she looked rough but hopeful\u2026that was in December\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>In February her cousin, a beautiful woman, committed suicide\u2026we all attended the funeral\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>In March, this beautiful, broken woman was found\u2026thrown into a shallow grave\u2026she had been murdered\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>I\u2019m sorry if this is shocking\u2026but I hope to get your attention I hope that you will hear me\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>This life is hard\u2026and it\u2019s messy and it\u2019s terrible and its heart breaking\u2026without Faith and hope and love\u2026even in the best of circumstances\u2026we fail miserably without the Savior\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>Why do I write\u2026?<\/h6>\n<h6>I write to tell you that without Jesus, I could have been that woman\u2026I was going down a path that was leading me straight to hell\u2026and it was only by the grace and mercy of God that I got out of it\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>We all have our stories to tell\u2026maybe you know someone like this young woman\u2026maybe she\u2019s you\u2026but you don\u2019t have to continue on that path\u2026there is hope, there is an answer, there is a way to freedom and life and health and joy\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>This is the reason I write\u2026to give you the answer\u2026I couldn\u2019t save that one, I couldn\u2019t help her\u2026but maybe just maybe something I write, might help someone to see and change and walk another path\u2026.<\/h6>\n<h6>To this day as far as I know, they never found the person who murdered this young woman\u2026But God knows\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>If you are hurting and lost and need help\u2026don\u2019t wait\u2026don\u2019t put it off\u2026the nudging you feel within you is the Holy Spirit saying, <em>make the call<\/em>\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>The pits you\u2019re in, you don\u2019t have to stay in them\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>There is hope\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>God is with you\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>There are two paths in life\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>One is Broad\u2026it\u2019s wide open\u2026but it will take you to a shallow grave\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>This path will be where the party is\u2026lots of people success, fun times\u2026 until it gets you in its grip\u2026deception will stripe you of honor and health and will leave you on the streets with no one and nothing\u2026it will leave you craving for more\u2026there is never enough\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>The other is Narrow\u2026there\u2019s just enough room for you and the Savior\u2026it will take you to life and peace\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>This path will seem lonely and not popular\u2026there will be tears yes, but you will have peace that passes understanding, more love that can fill the sky\u2026and it will give you people you can trust and depend on, a family that sticks together through everything\u2026there is always enough\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>The choice is yours\u2026<\/h6>\n<h6>#1. The Broad Path or<\/h6>\n<h6>#2. The Narrow Path<\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: right;\">&#8211;Marla Shaw O&#8217;Neill<\/h6>\n<h6><em>\u201cDon\u2019t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don\u2019t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do.
