I will be posting for some of the days of the fasting and prayer on my blog; days that I believe the Lord is directing me. Like today my sister and friend in the Lord, Avis, came over to walk with me\u2026five minutes out, and five minutes back, that\u2019s ten minutes and for someone who doesn\u2019t even walk to the mailbox and back that is huge\u2026I came so close to calling her and saying, \u201cCan we do this another day?\u201d She told me she would have come anyway\u2026that\u2019s just how she is, and I love her for it.<\/h6>\n
You see we can tell ourselves I want to eat better, exercise, rest, play, start something new to be in better health. I want to read my bible more, pray and fast. But so many times we talk ourselves out of it by saying, I don\u2019t feeellll like it….I\u2019ll just do this some other time….I\u2019ve got to many other things to do\u2026.I\u2019ve got kids or a job\u2026.or, I don\u2019t feel good right now…<\/em>whatever the excuse is, sometimes we don\u2019t even need an excuse we just don\u2019t do, \u201cit.\u201d Avis is in her seventies, I\u2019m only six-five lol\u2026but she said, \u201cGirl, now I\u2019ve got to go to work. I\u2019m so proud of you for doing this today, it\u2019s a start; so, same time next Thursday?\u201d<\/h6>\n
I said, \u201cYes, and thank you so much. You\u2019re an answer to a prayer I\u2019ve been praying for over five years.\u201d<\/h6>\n
\u201cAll it takes is a made up mind and then start\u2026\u201d That was Avis\u2019s words to me this morning\u2026<\/h6>\n
A made up mind, and then, start. No more procrastination\u2026 Just Do It!<\/h6>\n
The enemy comes to us through our mind. He makes one tiny suggestion and then sits back and laughs as we fall into his trap\u2026<\/h6>\n
But when we turn our minds over to the Holy Spirit\u2026fast and pray\u2026we won\u2019t listen to the devils lies\u2026we\u2019ll hear the voice of our Shepherd and we will follow Him\u2026He leads us in the paths of righteousness for His namesake\u2026He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemy\u2026He makes us to lie down in green pastures and He restores our soul\u2026<\/h6>\n
Let this mind be in you\u2026whose mind\u2026the mind of Christ\u2026He will not lead us to destruction\u2026He speaks good things to our mind\u2026He says, surely\u2026absolutely\u2026Goodness and Mercy will follow us all the days of our lives and we will dwell in the HOUSE of THE LORD\u2026FOREVER amen\u2026<\/h6>\n

If you\u2019ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care\u2014 then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don\u2019t push your way to the front; don\u2019t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don\u2019t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.<\/em><\/h6>\n
Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn\u2019t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn\u2019t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death\u2014and the worst kind of death at that\u2014a crucifixion.<\/em><\/h6>\n
Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth\u2014even those long ago dead and buried\u2014will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father.<\/em><\/h6>\n
