While sitting in this deep dark hole<\/h6>\n
I write, Dear Mom and Dad,<\/h6>\n
Do not weep for me<\/h6>\n
But remember why I lay here now<\/h6>\n
Not alone but with other soldiers brave and strong<\/h6>\n
We fight for our country and way of life<\/h6>\n
We gladly lay down our lives<\/h6>\n
Often our\u00a0sacrifice\u00a0is with life and limb<\/h6>\n
Freedom is not free, it is bought with blood…<\/h6>\n
It\u2019s with honor and pride we give our lives<\/h6>\n
And for\u00a0freedom we have fought and died<\/h6>\n
Soldier next to soldier we march and fight<\/h6>\n
To protect our\u00a0family and friends<\/h6>\n
Knowing the risk and the price we take may ultimately be our end<\/h6>\n
But with all my heart and soul I shout<\/h6>\n
\u201cOnward women and men, who served our nation well<\/h6>\n
We will not surrender to the likes of them who storm the streets\u00a0like Hell<\/h6>\n
For our way of life is precious and sacred, we fight for liberty<\/h6>\n
So on my tomb when you see those stripes you\u2019ll be singing victory<\/h6>\n
Do not weep for me mom and dad\u2026for I served as I was told<\/h6>\n
And soon you\u2019ll see me heavenward strong, happy,\u00a0and standing bold…<\/h6>\n
Our lives cut short, but with pride we salute, our Flag with gratitude,<\/h6>\n
In God we trust and will obey, we protected our humble\u00a0home…<\/h6>\n
Promise me this, that you will remember to pray…<\/h6>\n
God bless the men and women who serve the\u00a0U.S.A.<\/h6>\n
