The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.<\/em><\/h6>\nExodus 19:1-6 <\/em>New International Version (NIV) <\/em><\/strong>\u2018<\/em>You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles\u2019 wings and brought you to myself.<\/em> Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.\u2019<\/em><\/h6>\n1 Peter 2:9-10 <\/em>New International Version (NIV) <\/em><\/strong>But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God\u2019s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.<\/em> 10\u00a0<\/sup>Once you were not a people, but<\/em> <\/strong>now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.<\/em><\/h6>\nEphesians 2:10 <\/em>New International Version (NIV) <\/em><\/strong>For we are God\u2019s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.<\/em><\/h6>\nEphesians 1:5-10 <\/em>The Message (MSG) <\/em>The God of Glory <\/em><\/strong>How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He\u2019s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth\u2019s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.<\/em><\/h6>\nBecause of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we\u2019re a free people\u2014free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.<\/em><\/h6>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What does God desire? The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.<\/em><\/h6>\nExodus 19:1-6 <\/em>New International Version (NIV) <\/em><\/strong>\u2018<\/em>You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles\u2019 wings and brought you to myself.<\/em> Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. And what a blessing he is! He\u2019s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth\u2019s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.<\/em><\/h6>\nBecause of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we\u2019re a free people\u2014free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.<\/em><\/h6>\nExodus 19:1-6 <\/em>New International Version (NIV) <\/em><\/strong>\u2018<\/em>You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles\u2019 wings and brought you to myself.<\/em> Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.
