I recently wrote a letter to God and I was very specific in what I said and how I felt…I was feeling pretty down about some things and I wanted to express them to the Lord\u2026The Holy Spirit said, \u201cYou need to delete that prayer, you are pronouncing a curse on yourself and your family…\u201d WOE…I deleted it and asked God to forgive me. We can be sincere about things, but sincerely wrong…our words are so important…not only our words but our thoughts and the words that we write\u2026There is life and death…in the power of the tongue, the Bible says.<\/h6>\n
We can speak life or curses\u2026 we say things sometimes without even thinking and then we wonder why we get sick or lose our influence or wonder why all hell is breaking lose in our lives. As Christians, especially, we need to be so aware of our thoughts and our words. Thank goodness for the Holy Spirit that He will correct us instantly, but we have to heed what He says.<\/h6>\n
There\u2019s a reason there are so many scriptures about what we say with our mouth and think in our thoughts\u2026<\/h6>\n
Lord place a guard on my mouth\u2026Psalm 141:3<\/em><\/h6>\n
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks\u2026Matthew 12:34<\/em><\/h6>\n
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord\u2026Romans 10:9<\/em><\/h6>\n
Let your yea be yea; and nay, nay\u2026Matthew 5:37<\/em><\/h6>\n
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart\u2026Psalm 19:14<\/em><\/h6>\n
Let no corrupt communication precede out of my mouth\u2026Ephesians 4:29<\/em><\/h6>\n
We take every thought captive\u20262 Corinthians 10:5<\/em><\/h6>\n
Think on these things\u2026Philippians 4:8<\/em><\/h6>\n
Casting down every imagination and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God\u20262 Corinthians 10:5-7<\/em><\/h6>\n
I am a man of unclean lips\u2026Isaiah 6:5<\/em><\/h6>\n
Pray without ceasing\u2026to pray is to ask\u2026I Thessalonians 5:16-18<\/em><\/h6>\n
For He spoke and it came to be\u2026Psalm 33:9<\/em><\/h6>\n
And God said\u2026Genesis 1:3<\/em><\/h6>\n
And so on and so forth\u2026<\/h6>\n
God is trying to tell us something about our thoughts and our words\u2026<\/h6>\n
Our thoughts become words\u2026and our words become life or death\u2026<\/h6>\n
Let us listen and obey. Let us be quick to hear and slow to speak\u2026amen!!<\/h6>\n
Things we say without even thinking<\/u><\/strong>\u2026<\/h6>\n
I\u2019m so tired<\/h6>\n
I can\u2019t stand that<\/h6>\n
It scared me to death<\/h6>\n
I can\u2019t do anything right<\/h6>\n
I\u2019m coming down with a cold<\/h6>\n
You make me sick<\/h6>\n
You gave me a heart attack<\/h6>\n
Get out of my life<\/h6>\n
I can\u2019t do it<\/h6>\n
I\u2019m getting so fat<\/h6>\n
You lie like a dog<\/h6>\n
I wish I didn\u2019t have such bad luck<\/h6>\n
It\u2019s too late for me so why bother<\/h6>\n
I\u2019m so stupid<\/h6>\n
It\u2019s too hard<\/h6>\n
I might as well give up<\/h6>\n
I\u2019m just a failure<\/h6>\n
I’m so discussed<\/h6>\n
Now don\u2019t let these sayings get into your mind\u2026flush \u2018em as soon as you read them\u2026and replace them with positive words from God\u2019s holy word\u2026amen!!<\/h6>\n
I think you get the picture\u2026We think that those words are just words and that they don\u2019t mean anything but they mean everything\u2026What you confess is what you possess\u2026 So start changing the way you think and pretty soon you\u2019ll be speaking words of life into your life and into the lives of everyone around you.<\/h6>\n
Food for thought\u2026<\/strong><\/h6>\n
Summing it all up, friends, I\u2019d say you\u2019ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious\u2014the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse<\/u>. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. <\/em>Philippians 4:8-9 The Message (MSG)<\/strong><\/em><\/h6>\n
