Simon, son of John, Do You Love Me

After they had eaten Jesus said to Peter…
Simon, son of John, do you love me more than you love these men, your brethren?
Do you love me more than you love fishing?
Simon, son of John, do you love me more than your children? Do you love me more than earthly goods? Is this what you’re saying? Is this what I understood? Simon, son of John, how much do you love me? ~Jesus
Yes, Lord, you know that I love you dearly. I know I denied you, just days ago, there is no excuse this is all I know. When I heard that rooster crow…
I remembered your words and my heart filled with great woe…
Now Lord, I really know, that yes, I love you…~Peter
Feed my little ones, those who are weak, these I ask you, will all be led
In fields of green pastures, let them be fed…
Feed those you know who are also mature, for the road will be hard, and they must endure…
Many trials will come, but feed them with grace; they’ll need my light shining from your bold, zealous, face…
Feed them with love and feed them with truth…keep my sheep safe, this I ask of you…
Follow me Simon, son of John…and never retreat…heaven is your homeland so until we meet,
 Again…feed my sheep! ~Jesus

John 21:15-19 New International Version (NIV)
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”
The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”

I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am passionate about writing. I hope you enjoy the blog and come to visit often. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2: 2-4
